Update on The Survey for Lunches & Afternoon Teas for 2027

Excellent Choices Ladies!
Thank you to everyone who completed the survey.
There were some very definite winners and also losers from the options put forward.
As mentioned previously, the choices for next year will be determined by the majority of votes and the list of Lunches will go out with the December Newsletter. Hopefully there will be somewhere among the selection of venues to appeal to everyone.

Feedback on Meeting 18th August Bee-lieve it or not

Dina was buzzing!
A busy (as a bee!) Meeting, plenty of members came to listen to this talk.
What a lovely, friendly lady our Speaker, Dina, was and she was literally buzzing with enthusiasm for her bees.
Her passion for bees and bee-keeping was very evident as were her emotions regarding the plight of bees at the current time.
Lots of questions asked which she was very happy to answer and some lovely flowers that she brought with her and handed out.

Update on the trip to Hutton-le-Hole and Pickering, Tuesday 8th September

Fabulous Day Out!
The September outing was a great success. The sun shone and after a beautiful drive over Sutton Bank the coach arrived at Hutton-le-Hole.

Cont/d …..
First a stop for brunch in the excellent deli, before visiting the fascinating Ryedale Folk Museum, which exceeded expectations.
A trip through the North York Moors to Goathland for a scenic train journey to Pickering. For extra authenticity, everyone was treated to a British Rail style delay!
Finally - A visit to Bothams café in Pickering, before the journey home, where one of our Members kindly treated Darryl, our driver, to cream cakes.
A GREAT DAY OUT FOR ALL!

Safeguarding Policy
As previously mentioned, as part of the Grant process regarding Safeguarding we are required to hold on WiM records an Emergency Contact Number for every Member.
We now have an Emergency Contact number for the majority of Members.
It was mentioned by some Members at the last Monthly Meeting that there was a difficulty in opening the Emergency Contact Form and this has now been reissued in Word format, a copy of which is attached with this Newsletter.
It would be greatly appreciated if anyone who has not completed this form to date could complete and return the attached form either to a member of the Committee, bring to the next Meeting, or alternatively email Emergency Contact details to womeninmiddleham@btinternet.com

We Are Moving!!
PLEASE NOTE OUR CHANGE OF VENUE.
Our future meetings will now be held at the Key Centre. Our next meeting on Tuesday 15th September will be in the Lady Anne Neville Room.
This will be quite different from our previous venue at the Wensleydale Hotel but we hope to make this an enjoyable evening for everyone.
There will be the usual tea, coffee and raffle but also we will be providing some soft drinks, white wine and nibbles for our Members to enjoy.
Members are welcome to bring their own drinks along if they wish.
HOWEVER!! We will be looking for volunteers as we go along to step in and help out with the washing up and clearing up!!
Our Speaker at this meeting is Richard Sanderson (Leyburn Funeral Director) – The Lighter Side of Undertaking.

LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL IN OUR NEW VENUE!
