Feedback on Tennants Lunch and Tour, Tuesday 28th April
Fabulous afternoon, well worth every penny – a sentiment re-iterated by many!
This was a very well attended event and everyone said how much they enjoyed it. We had two tables in a lovely spot in the Bistro and it was nice to be able to welcome three of our new Members to this event. The food and service was extremely good and the tour itself was excellent.
We were treated to a short video regarding the history of Tennants, which was really interesting, before being taken along to see how paintings were photographed and filed and a fascinating off the cuff talk by the lady cataloguing the items for the Mouseman auction due to take place in June. We finished the afternoon seated in one of the Salerooms learning a little bit about ceramics and the auction industry in general.
A great afternoon out!

Update on Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wednesday 10th June

Art in the Great Outdoors.
The clipboard for this outing will be available again at the May Monthly Meeting.
An indication of prices were available with the clipboard at the April Meeting. However, as the number of Members who have signed up so far for this trip doesn’t warrant the hire of a coach we will be driving ourselves to the venue.
Julia and Lisa have very kindly offered to be drivers for this trip.
The round trip mileage for this event is 140 miles and takes approximately an hour in each direction, therefore, based on this information, a £10 per person contribution to the driver is considered to be very fair, half the cost per person had we to pay for a coach.
Just a reminder that the entrance fee to the Sculpture Park is £10 per person, very reasonable when comparing to other outdoor venues. Pay on the day at point of entry at the venue.

The painful part is payment which needs to be made in advance to WiM account by 29th June please.
Any queries regarding this lunch please contact Wendy who is organising this.

Update on Bruce Arms Lunch, Friday 14th August

August might still seem a bit far away but this is an opportunity to just remind everyone of what we have coming up.
In the spirit of consideration for our Members’ tastebuds, Kim and Ruth have volunteered to give it a taster session in advance!!
The clipboard and menu for this lunch will be available at the June and July Monthly Meetings.

Feedback on April Meeting Speaker Neil Meckie, Middleham Vet and Horse Trainer

James Herriott Would Have Been Proud!
What a great Speaker he was. Very knowledgeable, informative, and all with a touch of humour, especially when drifting off subject and telling other stories. There were so many really complementary messages about him following on from the April Meeting.
By his own admission “he wouldn’t know where to stick a needle in a cat” but his knowledge of horses and his down to earth, common sense attitude was really refreshing.
There were so many ladies who said they had come away from the Meeting really feeling that they had learned something new.
