Feedback on Annual Lunch, Bell Barn, Wednesday 28th January

We were very happy to welcome back Kim to the first event of 2026.
The afternoon was a resounding success with several comments that it was even better than the previous year! The overall feedback was excellent :–
Extremely good quality food
Generous portions
Friendly efficient service
A lovely ambience
Thank you to everyone who came along and helped to make it such an enjoyable afternoon.

Update on Lunch at The Queens Head, Finghall, Friday 27th Februay

Food, glorious food!
The clipboard and menu for this lunch were available at the Bell Barn Lunch and already we have had a good take-up. The clipboard and menu will be available again at the next meeting on 17th February and a copy of the menu is also attached alongside this Newsletter.
Lunch will be served at 12.30pm and we have a choice of 2 courses costing £27.95 or 3 courses costing £34.95.
Payment is required in advance, either online to Women in Middleham account or by cheque.
The deadline for payment and menu choices is Friday, 20th February.

Update on Wensleydale Heifer, Tuesday 24th March

Still more food!
This was a very well attended and much enjoyed lunch last year and the Wensleydale Heifer are very happy to cater for us again this year.
The menu will be their “Chippy” Menu, as we had last year.
The clipboard and menu will be available at the February meeting and again at the March meeting.
The deadline for numbers and menu choices is 18th March.
They are happy to take individual payments on the day but please note that a Service Charge will be added to each bill.

Update on Tennants Lunch and Tour, Tuesday 28th April

This has all the makings of a really interesting event.

The proposed programme is as follows:-
Arrive at 1pm for Lunch.
2.30pm we will be given an introduction to the history of Tennants.
2.45pm Behind The Scenes Tour and an opportunity to look at the current exhibitions.
4.00pm Depart.
We have 2 Lunch options to choose from for Mains and Dessert:-
Sea Bass or Chicken Kiev.
Honey Parfait or Chocolate Brownie
The cost is £28 per person including VAT.
The clipboard for this event will be available at the February meeting and the deadline for numbers and menu choices is 20th March.

Annual Subscriptions 2026

We are currently in the process of updating the WiM Member List.
If anyone is still wanting to pay subscriptions for 2026 this can be done either on-line, or by cheque which can be brought to the February meeting or put through Wendy (Sundial House) letterbox. Subscription fees are £30 for the year.
We do hope that as many as possible will continue to support WiM throughout the coming year. We have some really good events lined up and some interesting Speakers for our monthly meetings. It’s a great way for women in the community to keep in touch and enjoy leisure time together and we look forward to some interesting days out, nice food and good company!!

Mary’s Meals

Do you have any foreign or out of date currency?
Mary’s Meals is a charity whose aim is to provide money for a daily meal for some of the poorest children in the world who would otherwise struggle to eat. If you can help support this, any old or foreign currency can be taken directly to St Alkelda’s Church or alternatively give to Wendy who will pass it on. Thank you.
